STEMspiration ⭐️

This week we’re highlighting a woman whose name has become synonymous with groundbreaking primate research…Jane Goodall. In 1960, she began her revolutionary research on the wild chimpanzees in the Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania. She challenged established ideas about human-animal boundaries and through patient observation she revealed complex chimpanzee behaviours. This included tool use, social bonding and emotional depth, all things that reshaped our understanding of chimpanzees as we knew it.

Beyond the forest, Goodall became a global advocate for wildlife and environmental preservation. She founded Roots & Shoots, a program that empowers young people to take action for animals, people and the planet. She proved that compassion and curiosity can drive real change. Her work today reminds us that science has a responsibility to be empathetic to every form of life.
