To my younger self…

In last week’s coffee morning we talked a lot about mental health in the workplace and our journey throughout our career so I asked “What would your advice be to your younger self?”, and this is what I got:

💜 Hayley: An angry response is usually a mask for something else going on, try to find out what it is and always remember to be kind and compassionate to yourself.

💜 Barbara: Everyone has their own things going on and it’s important to remember that not everything is personal, try not to take offence to people’s reactions to you.

💜 Maia: Change is a good thing, try to embrace it and allow your expectations to change as you progress in your career.

Community Updates 💜

Future Development

FeminSTEM community has more than doubled in size over the last 30 days which is just absolutely amazing!! Our team is growing too with an intern being onboarded before the end of this year!

I want to make sure we’re growing in the right direction and providing the community with the things they really want… that’s why I’m asking you to DM me or reply to this email and tell me – what’s the thing that would help you the most? Is it skills workshops? Webinars? Reverse mentor pairing? Give me a message and I will make it happen 🥰

Upcoming: Tuesday 21st

Our next in-person meet-up will be held at Head of Steam on the Quayside. It’s an open space that has plenty of room for socialising between different groups! And you can even bring your dog 🙂

I hope to see you there 💜
