Community Updates 💜

Behind the Scenes

Over the last couple weeks we have been speaking with various companies and education providers to see how we can inspire the next generation of women in their STEM careers, and build their networks before they graduate or support them as they are entering the workforce.Want your company to be part of the action? Hit reply and let’s see how we can attract and retain women in STEM together! We are also currently in the process of recruiting a part-time intern to support with our community-building and outreach activities! Watch this space.

Dog-Friendly October Meet-Up

Our next in-person meet-up will be held at Head of Steam on the Quayside. It’s an open space that has plenty of room for socialising between different groups! And you can even bring your dog 🙂

STEMFest North East

This week we’re celebrating STEMFest 2025 (7–9 October) which is one of the UK’s most exciting celebrations of science, technology, engineering, and maths!

STEMFest brings together schools, universities, and organisations across the country to showcase what’s possible when creativity meets curiosity. From robotics and renewable energy to biomedical breakthroughs, it’s all about inspiring the next generation of innovators.

What’s even better is that this year’s spotlight is on women leading the way in STEM outreach, from engineers hosting workshops to scientists mentoring young girls.

I’ll be there at the North East Women in STEM networking event on Tuesday at VERTU Motors Arena! Who else is going?!
